William R. Lewis, MD, FACC

Dr. William Lewis is Associate Professor of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University; Chief of Clinical Cardiology,
MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he has been a staff member since 1993. He graduated from The Ohio
State University College of Medicine in 1986 and trained in internal medicine, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology
at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
He was elected
to the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology in 1998 and has served as the Secretary-Treasurer
since 2002. He served as the program chair for the 10th Annual Ohio ACC Annual Meeting in 2000 and
the annual Carl Wiggers Memorial Lecture in Cleveland in 2002 to 2004. He has served as the president of the Cleveland
Division of the American Heart Association from 2002 to 2004. He is on the national steering committee for the AHA’s
Get With The Guidelines program. Dr. Lewis has been active in advocacy, attending several legislative sessions
in Ohio and the ACC Legislative Sessions in Washington, DC, for the past several years.
